"We help our clients in so many ways other than just resolving legal issues in their workers’ compensation cases. Over the life of a case, we provide general advice on so many things. When we can make their lives a little better, even if it is just to provide them with someone who will listen, I feel that we’ve done our job."
Barbara Curry is among the elite and less than 1% of the top attorneys in the state who have been certified as an expert in state workers’ compensation law by the North Carolina State Bar’s Board of Legal Specialization as a Board Certified Specialist in Workers’ Compensation. With over thirty years of experience in workers’ compensation law, she possesses six times the minimum required years of experience, extensive continuing legal education, excellent peer reviews, and her passing of the written examination for certification in 2004 when she joined the attorneys and staff at CR Legal Team with her favorite treasure of camaraderie.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Liberal Arts from Asbury College, a Master of Arts degree in Hospital Administration from the University of Kentucky, and her Juris Doctor from Wake Forest University School of Law. (Hence the reason she is a huge Wake Forest fan!)
Barbara utilizes her free time in visiting her children in Washington, DC, and New York and in spending time with her family, her friends, and her family dog Watson. She is an avid runner and specializes in half marathon races usually twice a year. She enjoys cooking and shares interesting recipes for those who like to cook on her food blog butterandbaggage.com.
As a Board Certified Specialist in Workers’ Compensation, Barbara holds memberships in the North Carolina State Bar, the Guilford County Bar Association, and the North Carolina Advocates for Justice – Workers’ Compensation Section where she is also a former member of its executive board. She also has Admission to U.S. District Court – Middle District of North Carolina.
