CR Legal Team Makes Dorm Makeover a Memorable Experience

RALEIGH, N.C. – August 8, 2012 – Incoming N.C. State freshman, Morgan McNeil of Granite Falls, may just have the coolest dorm room at N.C. State this year, thanks to North Carolina law firm CR Legal Team , LLP.

McNeil is the winner of CR Legal Team ’ 2012 Extreme Dorm Makeover contest. On Wednesday, CR Legal Team staff arrived at McNeil’s dorm room and transformed her space from “drab” to “fab” with fixtures, furnishings and accessories valued at $1,200. Included in the makeover package were a 32-inch high definition TV, bedspreads and linens, a color printer, area rug, luggage, futon chair, lamps and more that McNeil personally picked out.

When CR Legal Team staff arrived at McNeil’s dorm, they had a 90-minute window to make over the space while McNeil, her mother Kim McNeil, and roommate Katy Lund (also of Granite Falls) waited outside in anticipation. The transformed space was unveiled in grand “Extreme Home Makeover” style to oohs and ahhs and the click of cameras from local media representatives as well as a reporter from the N.C. State school newspaper, The Technician.

“I love it all,” Morgan said, settling down on her new bedspread with a CR Legal Team water bottle in hand. “My dorm is so going to be the hangout. I’m so thankful for CR Legal Team and this experience.”

McNeil was one of many students to enter the contest by “liking” the CR Legal Team fan page and completing an application online. After winning the random drawing, she then had friends and followers help her finalize selections and décor for her dorm room through a Pinterest page.

The contest was included as part of the law firm’s college scholarship program which this year awarded 10 scholarships to North Carolina students entering local colleges. Scholarship applications for the 2013-14 school year will be posted by the first of the coming year on the firm’s Web site at www.crumleyroberts.com.

“CR Legal Team is strongly committed to the communities we serve, and helping students afford to continue their education is just one of the ways we demonstrate that,” said Chris Roberts, president and CEO of the firm. “This contest was just a little something extra to help make college life a little brighter for somebody.”

Roberts said the firm plans to continue to offer a makeover to one lucky North Carolina student as part of its scholarship program. To be notified when the contest opens for the next school year, interested students can visit the firm’s Facebook page and click the “like” button.
